Nickelodeon Resort

By Rebecca Plaisance November 15, 2011

Nickelodeon Resort, located in the heart of Orlando is filled with non-stop fun and action for your whole family. The resort is heaven for kids who love the Nick characters including Sponge Bob, Dora, Diego and many others. Children can meet the characters daily and at the special character breakfast. The hotel has 2 large pools with slides, play areas, and of course the famous Slime Time at the Lagoon pool. Daily your family will have the opportunity to be slimed! High above the slide at the Lagoon Pool there is a 400-gallon dump tank that fills with green slime. Children and parents gather under the tank for the big count down and are then covered in the slime. The pools at the resort are the hubs of activity during the day and in the evening; there are fun family shows that are both interactive and great for the whole family.

The rooms at Nickelodeon are all suite style allowing kids to have their own rooms and parents a little bit of privacy. There are 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites. The kid’s rooms are decked out in their favorite Nick characters and have a small kitchenette complete with a microwave, mini fridge, sink and coffee maker. The rooms are a bit dated but are comfortable for the amount of time that you actually end up spending in them. The kitchenette is large enough to prepare a fast breakfast or lunch for the family. All of the rooms do feature high speed Internet service and flat screen TV’s.

This winter they will launch their “Let it Snow” celebration. The celebration transforms the resort into a winter wonderland complete with an 80 foot ice slide, snow falling on the Oasis pool, fire pits with hot cocoa and S’mores and much more.

The resort is a short drive to the Disney parks and about 45 minutes from the new Legoland amusement park.

Here our my top 5 tips for a great stay at Nickelodeon Suites

5. Attend the Character Breakfast. Kids get a ton of time up close and personal with the characters

4. Pick up some basics for breakfast and lunch. The small kitchen is perfect to make bagels, cereal, sandwiches or other quick foods

3. Get slimed. You will not believe how excited your kids will get when you stand under the dump tank with them and end up covered in green slime.

2. If you have kids who go to bed early request a room away from the Lagoon Pool. The sliming goes on all day and when we were there they had a sliming at 8:45 at night. The sliming is LOUD filled with sirens, loud speakers and the whole shebang.

1. Check out the shows but make reservations when you check in to get your first choice in times and shows that you want to see while you are there.
