If you love to quilt, love the mountains and fancy yourself something of a cowgirl, this is a don't miss trip.
August 26 to September 2, the Nine Quarter Circle Ranch will be hosting it's 2012 Cowgirl Quilting Retreat, a week-long adults-only program that focuses on quilting and camaraderie where participants will have the chance to learn from internationally-recognized quilting cowgirls Charlotte Warr Andersen and Georgia Bonesteel.
Quilting classes will be held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings with a special theme associated with the ranch and scenery carrying through the classes.
No matter how devoted to her needle, a girl can't quilt all day. Afternoons will be spent fly-fishing, horseback riding, hiking and enjoying the scenery; Yellowstone is just down the road, perfect for an afternoon excursion. On Wednesday, there’s a field trip to Bozeman with stops at a handful of local quilt, fabric, and antique shops. The week is filled with quilting, camaraderie, riding, and relaxing in beautiful Montana. Accommodations are cozy log cabins and beds topped with – what else -- handmade quilts.
