Macaroni Kid's Annual Ski Roundup

By Joyce Shulman October 8, 2013
My son is now 12. He'd rather hang with his friends or play Minecraft than pretty much anything else. Except ski.

I'm so thankful that we are skiing family. It's not easy and it's not cheap. But many years ago, when I was bemoaning how hard it was to pack the clan, travel, get the gear together, deal with weather challenges and more, my very wise husband said "sometimes it takes work to have a good time."

And so, a few times a year, we head out on a family ski adventure. We explore new mountains and resorts, work on our skills, swap stories of the day over dinner, drink gallons of hot chocolate and pile into the same room to sleep.

There's no place any of us would rather be.
