A Spa You Will Both Love

The Lodge at Woodloch

By Joyce Shulman February 11, 2014
Some spas are great to visit on your own. Others are perfect for a girlfriend’s getaway. But a few special spas will be perfect for you and your honey.

The Lodge at Woodloch is one of those few.

Set on 150 lakeside acres in the  Pennsylvania Pocono Mountains –- two-and-a-half hours from New York City, three from Philadelphia and four from Boston --  the Lodge at Woodloch is often counted among the top ten destination spas in the country.

We know why. A gorgeous building, expansive spa services, delicious food, glass-enclosed pool complete with waterfall and lots of indoor and outdoor activities provide the backdrop to service that is simultaneously luxurious and unpretentious.

But what makes it awesome for couples?

First, it is spa-like without being too spa-like. There is nothing “fru-fru” about the Lodge at Woodloch. Not the woodland setting, not the lodge-style facilities, not the gorgeous rocks in the pool, not the big screen TV for important weekend games. And certainly not the food.

Ah, the food. The restaurant is nothing short of fantastic and includes a broad variety of offerings beyond the traditional spa menu. Like grilled filet mignon, which is no surprise considering the Chef hails from a steakhouse.

Third, a full bar. Yes, it is spa complete with beer, wine and cocktails for those who wish.

Fourth, golf. As a guest of The Lodge at Woodloch, you have access to The Country Club at Woodloch Springs, nationally recognized by GOLF Magazine as "one of the finest courses in America" and rated "4.5 Stars" by Golf Digest's Best Places to Play.

Despite all of this, the Lodge at Woodloch remains a spa with abudent services, great classes and food options for those who prefer their meals a little greener and little lighter. In short, it is a spa with something for everyone.

Reports recent guest Leslie Kay Bach, “we went to The Lodge at Woodloch on a ‘baby-moon.’  Even at 8 months pregnant we were able to do loads of activities together and relax in a romantic setting. My husband was initially skeptical, but the spa was gender neutral and he was super comfortable. Romantic dinners, lots of sporty activities we could do together. We loved it.”

Really, what more can you ask?
