Upcoming Excitement at Universal Orlando

On Our Radar

By Joyce Shulman April 8, 2014
Exciting new things at Universal Orlando are on our radar this spring.

The highlight will be the Hogwarts Express, debuting as part of the new Diagon Alley this summer.

The Hogwarts Express will be an actual train ride connecting Diagon Alley with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure. Guests with park-to-park admission will pass through the brick wall at King’s Cross Station and depart from Platform 9 ¾. Once seated in one of the train’s cabins with family and friends, fans will travel through the British countryside where they may encounter Buckbeak the Hippogriff, Hagrid and other favorite Harry Potter characters...perhaps even a Dementor or two...as they leave the muggle world behind. A return trip to London promises an entirely different experience.

But that’s not all the news from Universal Studios. The newly-opened Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a value-priced property offering standard rooms or family suites, two pools, a lazy river, bowling alley and tons more. A recent look showed rates starting as low as $90/night, an awesome price to be right in heart of the Universal action.

Finally, a new interactive vacation planner is available to help you plan your visit. Plug in your travelers' ages and preferences and the vacation planner will give you suggestions, recommendations and a neat and tidy list of available packages and specials.

Makes me want to plan a visit!
