The Grand Ole Opry is The Church of Country Music

By Spencer Hatch September 9, 2014
Known as the home of country music, the Grand Ole Opry has been entertaining the masses for years with both classic and modern country music from those times' biggest stars. When coming to the country music capital of the world, you have to visit the headquarters, where it all started. From Johnny and Hank to Tim and Blake, this venue will definitely put an exclamation point on your visit to Nashville.

If you are anything like the Hatch family, you have country music running through your veins. The Grand Ole Opry is definitely a "come one, come all" kind of venue.  With church style seating and an inviting atmosphere, the Opry will have you tapping your toes and singing along with your favorite country artists.  Don't forget, before the show, you can get an exclusive behind the scenes look at the way the Opry operates. When I say behind the scenes, I mean it! You get to go backstage and learn about the history, legends, and adversity that made this beautiful venue what it is today.

Not only do the superstar country singers play at this beautiful concert hall, it also gives the opportunity for aspiring singers in this genre to show what they've got and put their name out there. Each night has about 5 acts, usually with 3 being up and coming artists, and the other few being the big names we hear today.  So come prepared to be blown away when you hear all of the talent that this big, little city has to offer!

This entertaining venue of country music is a must-go for all ages and families. Whether you enjoy the classics or the modern country, The Grand Ole Opry will not disappoint.  This was definitely an experience that I will not only see as a way to hear music, but to understand why and how it was made and the legends that made it all possible.

Oh yeah, and if you can't catch the show live, always be sure to tune into 620 AM WSM to hear the country gold!
