The American Institute of Architects' Annual Sand Sculpture Contest is held each May on the Galveston Island's East Beach. For over two decades teams of architects, designers, and engineers have taken their tools to East Beach in Galveston for one of the world’s largest sandcastle competitions. The results are simply astounding.
Hampton Beach's Master Sand Sculpting Competition in New Hampshire happens every June. The fun begins when 250 tons of imported sand is dropped on Hampton Beach, and sculptors, who are invited only by invitation, create awesomeness with sand. A highlight of this event is that the entire area is illuminated for night viewing.
The Imperial Beach Sun and Sea Festival takes place each July in Imperial Beach, CA. The American Sand Sculpting Championship in Fort Meyers is the largest competition of its kind in the state of Florida. The event, held in November, boasts many of the best sculptors from around the country, as well as a kids zone, sculpting demonstrations, and a slew of other themed activities.
