The Hills of Africa

By Joyce Shulman July 7, 2010

There are many, many options for families looking to experience the wonders of Africa, but Hills of Africa is run by a mother of two young children and seems to bring a unique understanding of the needs of families.

CEO Sandy Salle promises that a family safari will "create memories your family will cherish for a lifetime" and that her experienced team will lead your family on an "adventure into the bush to see The Big Five up close, explore golden beaches on horseback, and enjoy a family dinner."  Their special child-friendly camps offer activities for the entire family, including bush treasure hunts, bead-making classes and bedtime stories told by traditional African storytellers.

Hills of Africa can take you beyond the bush as well, and works closely with families to plan itineraries that satisfy their individual desires, needs and budgets.  A canoe safari along the Zambezi River, a visit to Hwange National Park and a tour of Victoria Falls?  Done.  Restaurant reservations in Cape Town?  No problem.

Here's the sense we got: these guys know kids, know Africa and are excited to help you and your family put the pieces together.  We plan to call them next year when we plan our family's first African adventure.  www.hillsofafrica.com
