Sometimes what a girl needs is to really, truly get out of her comfort zone. If you are like most of us, surfing is about two breaks beyond ordinary. But spending hours in the water and on the beach, tackling a new skill and feeling the incredible thrill of catching your first wave, well, I know from personal experience, it's nothing short of awesome.
From August 20-25, Wrightsville Beach's Surf Camp will run their seventh annual women's only camp in Wrightsville, North Carolina. During the five night, six day camp, campers will be treated to yoga, healthy meals and a three-to-one student to surf instructor ratio designed to “instill confidence every step of the way” promises founder Rick Civelli. With an eye toward fostering the empowerment that comes from mastering a new skill, creating a noncompetitive, supportive environment and delivering personalized attention, this surf camp promises to deliver quite an experience. In fact, I might go myself this August. Anyone want to join me?
