Try Something New with Your Sweetie

By Lisa Gofberg February 12, 2013
Do you make date night or time away with your spouse a priority? Often, life gets in the way - school meetings, basketball games, work travel, sick kids - leaving one-on-one time at the bottom of the priority list. In honor of Valentine’s day, here are five fun and unique ways to spend time together.

1. Learn to Make Sushi in San Francisco

Grab a few of your favorite couples and have group date with Breakthrough Sushi and learn to make your favorite sushi dishes. Sign up for the Hand Roll Sushi Class or the Tasting Class if you feel like watching and learning instead of doing and learning. Want to kick it up a notch? Classes can be taught in Japanese so you can learn a little Japanese too!

2. Gain Some Speed

Head out to Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Chandler, Arizona and choose from stock cars or kart racing. With intro classes for both, you will learn the ropes and want to come back for more. Your hubby will love it and you can check it off your bucket list!

3.  Balloon Fun

Hot air ballooning is something everyone should experience at least once. Plus, what a great romantic adventure! There are many beautiful locations to hot air balloon but consider booking your tour in Albuquerque, NM or the mountains of Colorado.

4. Learn to Surf

Thought you needed an ocean to learn to surf? Think again. The Kierland Flowrider is located at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ. The 6,000 square foot simulator also has a viewing platform so you can watch your sweetie in action! After leaning to surf, you can relax on their massive lazy river and have a little more fun on the water slide!

5. River Rafting

If you have ever wanted to raft down the Colorado River but weren’t too sure about the “roughing it” part, Sheri Griffith Expeditions does the work for you. Head to Moab, UT and you and your sweetie can raft all day.  When you arrive at your destination, everything is ready for you- camping equipment, meals, etc. Enjoy the scenery and the ride as you raft down the river with an expert guide!
