Tired of the same old travel destinations? Feel like it's time to try something different? We've found five fun and wacky travel spots that are worth checking out!

At the Out ‘n’ About Treehouse Treesort in Takilma, Oregon, you can take the idea of living among the trees to a whole new level. This Treesort is a bed and breakfast with multiple custom-made tree houses that are accessed by the Mountain View Treeway (suspension bridges). Feel free to let the kids roam a bit – it’s safe with lots of open space. The Treesort is full of great activities for all ages. Don’t miss the zipline course or the Tarzan Swing – they are guest favorites. (Bonus: minimum age is 4 so it is great for families of all ages!) Plus, with all the arts and crafts, horseback riding and other activities to enjoy as a family, this will be an adventure-packed vacation!

The Madonna Inn in San Luis Obisbo, California, has something for everyone. The Inn includes 110 uniquely designed rooms, each with its own theme. Imagine the wildest room you can and multiply it by 10! Caveman theme? Yup! - the entire room is covered in solid rock. Storybook theme? Yup! - complete with a working water wheel above the beds. Wild west? Yup! - sleep in a bed that’s a wagon frame!

The Jules’ Undersea Lodge in Key Large, Florida was the first underwater hotel in the United States. What began as an underwater research lab can now be your next vacation spot. Imagine sleeping, eating and living underwater 21 feet below sea level in a lagoon filled with amazing sea life! Your room has all the amenities of a regular hotel room plus a view to die for. Who needs a television when you have 42” windows to view the lagoon’s sea life? Keep in mind that to visit the lodge, you must be SCUBA certified. They do offer a limited certification if you are not certified but participants must be at least 10 years old, so take the older kids on this one.

Got a dog lover in your family? Add the Dog Bark Park Inn to your travel bucket list! Check in to Sweet Willy, the world largest beagle, designed and built by the owner-artists who also have carved all the décor inside with a chainsaw! In addition to being able to explore the nearby Lewis and Clark Trail, it’s worth the trip to Cottonwood, Idaho just to check out the chainsaw art which includes 60+ breeds of dogs carved our of wood. They are adorable and any dog lover will want to take one home as a souvenir.

Spend the night on a ship without ever leaving port on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. Take a trip back in time to the 1930s when the Queen Mary was sailing the Atlantic, learn a bit about the history of the ship and hear tales of the "friendly" spirits reputed to live aboard the ship. Dine with the spirits or go on a paranormal ship walk and decide for yourself if the ship is truly haunted. (Some activities are for ages 16+.) Getting spooked not your thing? Don't worry, there's plenty to do and discover through the many tours and exhibits (non-spooky!) aboard the Queen Mary.
