Top 5 Disney Pools

By Mandy Carter January 10, 2017
If you are sitting inside near the fireplace with snow outside right now, you might be happy to know that Orlando is a destination where you can swim year-round. All Disney hotel pools are outside, heated and directly in the sun to let you soak up the yearlong summer weather!

The top 5 pools at Walt Disney World Resorts

The list of great family hotels in Orlando is long, so the deciding factor for choosing to stay at an onsite Disney resort is often the pool.

All Walt Disney World Resorts have nice family-friendly pools but each is unique. The pools range in size, amenities, atmosphere, and overall theme. Some stand out from the rest and can make a huge difference in your vacation fun.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

One of Disney’s Moderate Resorts, Caribbean Beach offers 7 pools onsite. The main pool is located in an area called Centertown. This is a huge fort-themed pool with waterfalls, two slides, water cannons, a zero-depth entry pool and a great pirate ship splash area with mini slides, climbing structure and water bucket that spills over periodically.

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort

An often-overlooked Disney Resort, Saratoga Springs offers 5 pools, each with its own awesome features. Guests who choose to stay at Saratoga Springs can spend each day at a different pool. There are waterfalls, water slides, hot tubs, kiddie pools and splash pads. When hunger strikes, options are plenty: there is a snack bar, a full-service grill, or guests can even plan a family picnic at the pool grilling area! Views range from peaceful trees to the skyline of Disney Springs. This resort is sure to please swimmers of all types.

Disney’s Polynesian Resort

Upon following the pathways from the Ceremonial House at the Polynesian Resort, guests will find the 40-foot-high volcano, which is actually a fun water slide that spills out into the deep end of the pool. The newly renovated pool also has a zero entryway, a hot tub, and an in-pool seating area with heated jets. Piped music makes a perfect addition to the view of Cinderella’s Castle. There is also a great splash area for non-swimmers with slides, water bridges and tiki guys that spit water!

Disney’s Art of Animations Resort

There are three pools at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Known for having the largest resort pool at Walt Disney World, the colorful Finding Nemo inspired pool is a family favorite. There are underwater speakers, a slide that even the young ones can enjoy and an interactive gated splash zone. This is a very busy pool, but the size helps ease any crowded feeling. We love that guests can watch the nightly movie from the pool - a unique feature of this Disney property.

Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts

The pool access is for guests of both the Yacht Club Resort and the Beach Club Resort. Due to the popularity of this pool, employees are very strict about checking guests' room keys, and they also provide wristbands each day as guests enter. Stormalong Bay offers plenty of seating, two large pools, a ship slide and a deep lazy river with tubes provided. The zero-entry pool has a sand bottom with plenty of sand play areas. The children love this! And the pool restaurant serves kid meals in sand buckets, which helps those flying in with no room to pack sand toys. The activity pool is always busy with pool volleyball and games. This pool is a true Disney oasis. We have taken many Disney staycations at the resort, never leaving the Boardwalk resort area because it has all you need for days of family fun.
