From the Montauk Lighthouse to Niagara Falls, New York State has one-of-a-kind attractions that will delight and inspire families to create lasting memories.

Beaches & Horsing Around
On the tip of Long Island, just 110 miles from Manhattan, saddle-up with cowboys at Deep Hollow, America’s oldest working cattle ranch. Nearby, explore Montauk’s historic Lighthouse, along with beautiful beaches and state parks across the island. In Garden City, see an Apollo Lunar Module, dozens of air and spacecraft, and hands-on exhibits at the Cradle of Aviation.

Presidents & Playland
In the Hudson Valley, visit historic homes, including those of two U.S. Presidents. Master your Lego building skills at the LEGOLAND Discovery Center in preparation for the 2020 opening of LEGOLAND New York. Visit Rye’s Playland for a classic amusement park, boardwalk, beach, fishing pier, and fireworks.

Adventures, A to Z

From the Adventure Park atop Windham Mountain to North America’s longest and highest zipline at Hunter Mountain, the Catskills have it all. Enjoy tubing on lazy rivers, train rides, and mountain biking. For one-stop fun, stay on a working farm or family-friendly resort like Sunny Hill and Villa Roma.

Ice-Age Sloths to Fast Horses
In the Capital-Saratoga region, travel back 15,000 years at the NYS Museum’s Ice Age exhibit. Discover fossils of woolly mammoths and giant ground sloths that once roamed New York’s landscapes. Nearby, children can become junior rangers and learn about the turning point of the American Revolution at Saratoga National Historical Park.

Wildly Fun
From Lake George steamboat cruises to tree-top trails at the Wild Center, the six-million-acre Adirondack Park has fun for everyone. Discover Lake Placid’s inspiring Olympic Museum and ride a gondola up Whiteface Mountain. The historic Great Camp Sagamore’s intergenerational camp allows the whole family to create happy memories with hikes, canoeing, and evening campfires.

Count on the 1000 Islands
Abundant waters, sandy beaches, and beautiful parks create a giant playground for swimming, fishing, and boat riding in the Thousand Islands. Take a boat ride to Boldt and Singer Castles, explore picturesque villages like Sackets Harbor, or visit Old McDonald's Farm Village. Top off your day with a sunset cruise on Great Lake Ontario.

Caverns to Cooperstown
Howe Caverns in Central New York has an underground cave to explore, a mining company where kids can sift for gems and an adventure park. In Cooperstown, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum has exhibits on everyone from Babe Ruth to women in baseball, and the Farmers Museum’s 1845 farm village is a must-see.

Play’s the Thing
The Finger Lakes is home to The Strong, the world’s only museum dedicated to play. Children and adults love the vast toy collection, retro arcade, National Toy Hall of Fame, and butterfly garden. Also in the Finger Lakes, the Corning Museum of Glass has the world’s largest collection of glass and kid-friendly glass blowing demonstrations, gallery tours, and workshops.

Yours ’til Niagara Falls
Thundering waterfalls take center stage at Niagara Falls State Park. Cruise the Maid of the Mist, enjoy a jet boat tour, stand under the Falls in the Cave of the Winds, and see evening illuminations and fireworks over the Falls. Nearby, ride vintage ponies at the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum and tour Platter's Chocolate Factory.

Simple Pleasures, Precious Moments
In Chautauqua-Allegheny, mountainside ski resorts, Holiday Valley and Peek’n Peak also feature summertime activities including aerial rope courses, ziplines, mountain coasters, swimming and kayaking. Make sure you visit the Lucy-Desi Museum in Lucille Ball’s hometown of Jamestown to see props, costumes, and sets from I Love Lucy.
