By Harlisha Homer May 14, 2019

Is your teen looking for a special experience this summer? Check out an adventure tour with one of these seven groups! Accommodations, meals, and transportation from destination to destination are typically included in each tour's cost unless otherwise noted. Airfare to the starting point is typically not included.

ThrillCoaster Tours

ThrillCoaster Tours are just like they sound. These summer tours are offered for -- you guessed it -- lovers of roller coasters ages 12-16. ThrillCoaster Tours, headquartered in East Brunswick, N.J., announces an annual tour schedule, visiting a variety of amusement parks in the United States.

Rein Teen Tours

This group offers recreational and community service tours in the United States and abroad. This year's tours are offered in such locations as California and the southwestern U.S., the east coast, Hawaii, and even Australia and New Zealand.

Westcoast Connection

Recreational tours are offered around the United States. From tropical rainforests to vibrant cities, West Coast Connection's programs allow teens to experience some of the world’s most incredible locations. No matter your child's interest, there's likely a tour for them, given the variety, which includes everything from community service to baseball and fashion.

Bold Earth

Designed for ages 12 and up, Bold Earth offers community service, education, and tour groups specifically geared for younger teens. With the exception of the trips for younger teens, Bold Earth's excursions are abroad, with a focus on bold adventures.

National Geographic Student

National Geographic offers student travel programs around the world each summer that aim to inspire and educate middle school and high school students ages 13 and older. Tour groups offered include Expedition, Community Service, Photography, Pre-College, and more in destinations in the U.S. and abroad.

Teen Treks

This organization offers bike trips for teens 11-18, with trips in Europe, Canada, and the U.S. Each group is small, with 2 leaders, and participants stay overnight at hostels, hotels, and campgrounds. ‘Easy,’ ‘Moderate,’ and ‘Challenging’ biking adventures are offered that are 1 to 8 weeks long.

Apogee Adventures

Apogee offers teen summer travel adventures, including bicycling trips, hiking camps, writing, photography, and youth community service programs for youth ages 11-18. Trips are in the United States and abroad.
